Librarians at Marx Science and Social Science Library have created a working collection for researchers seeking to explore the impact of COVID-19 across the social sciences. The research guide, which can be seen at https://guides.library.yale.edu/covid19impacts, includes news sources, databases, and links to research support librarians with related subject expertise. It will be updated as new resources become available.
Librarians at Cushing/Whitney Medical Library have created a COVID-19 resource 页面 containing clinical tools and guidance, latest research and citations, datasets and repositories, and consumer health information. The guide is frequently updated as new information is released.
During the month of April, Yale Library staff and projects were featured in multiple news outlets, from the New York Times to Yale News. Topics included the work of the library’s Geographic Information Systems (GIS) team helping to map the spread of COVID-19, the 50th anniversary of the library’s Oral History of American Music collection, and the pioneering work of digital preservation staff. Chief research archivist Judy Schiff brought a historical perspective to the coronavirus with an Alumni Magazine story about an 18th century fever outbreak in New Haven. Barbara Rockenbach, associate university librarian for research and learning at Columbia University Libraries, will succeed Susan Gibbons as the Stephen F. Gates ’68 University Librarian July 1. She began her library career at Yale as the second Kress Fellow in Art Librarianship in 1998 and progressed to successively broader leadership roles. As director of undergraduate and library research education, she worked with colleagues to introduce the Personal Librarian program for Yale College students and championed teaching with special collections. 阅读 更多.
